Athletic Background
Nick competed at the national level with AFL Team Canada and played varsity soccer at the University of Guelph. He’s also taken on endurance challenges outside his sport background, completing the Around the Bay 30K and a 50/50/50 challenge with Jay and Stephan (50km bike, 50km run, 50km bike).

Coaching Philosophy
“My job as a coach is to bring excitement to fitness.”

After 12 years of coaching, Nick’s perspective has been refined by experience. One lesson that stuck: sometimes less is more. He’s learned to trust simplicity over complexity.

He also pushes back on one of the most common assumptions he hears: that back pain automatically means a back problem. In his experience, the source is rarely where people think it is — and that kind of critical thinking about the body is something he brings to every coaching interaction.

Background & Perspective
Nick’s engineering background isn’t just a credential — it’s a lens. He thinks about movement systematically, looks for root causes, and values precision. It’s the same mindset that makes him light up when an athlete finally clicks with a new skill.

“Watching that light bulb moment — that’s what I love most.”

What drives him to keep training: his family, and a commitment to being the best version of himself.

What sport taught him: “Hard work beats talent.”
